BY-LAW #403
Village of Myrnam Curfew
THIS BY-LAW BEING BY-LAW #403 OF THE VILLAGE OF MYRNAM IN THE PROVINCE OF ALBERTA, TO REGULATE ACTIVITIES OF MINOR PERSONS WITHIN THE CORPORATE LIMITS OF THE VILLAGE OF MYRNAM.
WHEREAS; under the provisions of Part 2, Division 1(7)(a) of the Municipal Government Act, allowing for the safety, health and welfare of the people and the protection of people and property;
WHEREAS; the Village of Myrnam deems it proper and expedient to restrict the movement of minor persons, who at times destroy the peace of mind of Myrnam citizens, and who at times destroy property and who at times, enter property at a danger to themselves and others;
WHEREAS; it is the intent of this By-law to control the movement abroad of minor persons in order to protect the peace of mind of Myrnam citizens and to protect the property of its citizens, and to prevent injury to its citizen;
NOW THEREFORE, the Municipal Council of the Village of Myrnam in the Province of Alberta duly assembled enacts as follows:
1. The By-Law shall be cited as the Village of Myrnam Curfew By-Law and shall replace any previous curfew by-law.
2. All persons within the Corporate Limits of the Village of Myrnam and under the age of 18 years shall be restricted to the confines of their home and the property it stands upon after the hour of 11 P.M., unless accompanied by a Parent of Guardian.
3. Any person who contravenes this by-law or any parent or Legal Guardian who suffers or permits any contravention of this By-law is guilty of an offence and shall be liable on summary conviction to a fine of not less than Two Hundred Dollars ($200.00) and not more than Five Hundred Dollars ($500.00).
This By-law shall take effect on the final reading thereof.
